Kauai, Hawaii Convention Terms & Conditions

Registration deadline for Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company convention is February  1st.

All registrations must be completed by February 1st, no exceptions. Any qualifier or guest not registered by February 1st will not be attending convention.

The 2024 Kauai, Hawaii Convention is sponsored by Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company. Convention dates are April 2–April 6, 2024. No pre-event convention extensions will be allowed at the convention hotel site. Post extensions are allowed if the hotel can accommodate, any additional costs will be at your expense. Our designated travel company will not be booking post extension hotel reservations, this is the responsibility of the attendee/guest.

Each qualifier or invited guest will be required to follow the established rules and guidelines set forth by Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company. Guidelines are set for qualifying purposes only and are not general requirements for doing business with Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company.

All air transportation will be ticketed through our designated travel company. Attendee is responsible for any additional fees that result from attendee and/or guest requesting a change in travel arrangements after they are approved by the attendee. For airline reservations that are cancelled once they have been ticketed, the attendee is responsible to cover the cost of their ticket and the cost of their spouse/guest ticket as well, if applicable.

All additional airline fees; including fees for ticket upgrades, luggage, overweight luggage, additional luggage or extended stay bookings are at the expense of the Qualifier and their guest.

Only licensed agents can qualify. Agents must be actively selling Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company products at the time of the trip departure, or the trip will be forfeited. Agents must be in good standing as deemed by Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company. Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company has the right to make all determinations in all matters pertaining to qualification, interpretation of these rules, and eligibility, and its decisions are final.

Writing agents who do not qualify for the trip are not eligible to receive an agency invitation.

Exceptions will not be granted for any agent who does not fulfill all qualifying requirements. Agents or other agency members will not be allowed to attend the sales conference under any circumstances if he or she does not qualify or is determined to be ineligible. If an agent does not meet ALL of the qualifying requirements, such as, but not limited to, net production of $700K or more and 85% persistency, he or she will not be allowed to attend, and any requests for exceptions will be denied.

Attendees are required to attend ALL sponsored Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company functions and/or events. In the event you choose not to attend one of these company sponsored events, you will not be eligible to attend 2025 convention.

No cash settlements or any other considerations are given in lieu of attending this convention.

The independent activities, meals, entertainment and travel of Qualifiers and their guests, which are outside of the sponsored events by Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company as part of or related to the convention, shall be at the expense of the Qualifiers and their guests.

Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted to attend convention functions or travel with attendees to the convention hotel. Our designated travel company will not book tickets for anyone other than the attendee and their spouse/guest. Transfers at the airport are also only provided for attendee and their spouse/guest.

As guests of Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company, all qualifiers and their guests are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, and abide by all local and federal laws, as well as any applicable resort/hotel rules. Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company reserves the right to remove any Qualifiers and/or their guest from the program for inappropriate behavior, the determination of which shall be at the absolute discretion of Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company. Said Qualifiers and guest shall be responsible for any costs incurred for a change in travel plans.

The value of this Convention will be reported as income to the Attendee. The Attendee will also be assessed the applicable taxable income of their guest in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service. To the extent that the value of the Convention for the Attendee and their invited guest will be included in the convention Attendee’s income, the Attendee will be responsible for any taxes due.

Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine eligibility for this Convention on a case-by-case basis.

By participating in this convention, Qualifier and their guest agree to release and hold harmless Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company, its affiliates, and its owners, as well as the employees, managers, officers, directors and agents of Wellabe/Great Western Insurance Company and its affiliates from any, and all, liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the convention. Such a release from Qualifiers and their guest shall include actual, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages connected in any way to the Convention.

The laws of the state of Iowa shall govern the Terms and Conditions related to the Convention, and attendees and their guests participating in the Convention consent to the resolution of any disputes solely through the alternative dispute resolution processes.
